Describes Mr. Coffin's journey up the St. John River in response to resolves passed by the Legislature of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in concurrence with resolves of the State of Maine. The resolves resulted from unathorized timber cutting and jurisdictional disputes with New Brunswick over the land in this area.
